What is the Virtual Dinner for One, Two, or a Few?
The Virtual Dinner is our 2020 fall fundraiser. We hope you'll join us for an evening of live music, streamed right to your computer, alongside takeout from the dinner destination of your choice. We will also have a silent auction at the same time! Support from this event goes to our organization's homelessness prevention and self-sufficiency program.

Do I have to pay to watch the livestream?
The livestream is available to everyone. You do not need to purchase a ticket to enjoy the show.

A Facebook account is not required to watch the livestream on our website or on Facebook.

Can I bid on the auction even if I did not buy a ticket?

The world is taking a little longer to go back to normal than expected. 2020 continues to challenge all of us. Despite everything, we are thankful all of our families have avoided eviction during the pandemic. Of course, 2020 is not over yet and it continues to present new challenges including a back-to-school season like no other, home damage from summer storms, and an apartment building fire that profoundly affected a North Star family. Up against the ending of an eviction moratorium, the depletion of savings accounts, and more- our hardworking families need our support now more than ever.

Throughout this crisis, we have proudly served our families, helping them stay in their homes while they plan for an uncertain future. Your support helps North Star families led by hardworking single parents.
Single fathers like "Jerry" who lost everything when his apartment building was destroyed by a fire. After several weeks, he has recovered and moved into a new apartment with his son. North Star was there for his family, we delivered furniture to their new home, and our case manager guided him through the process of rebuilding. Jerry is determined not to let this event define the road ahead.
Single mothers like "Kayla," a soon-to-be graduate of our program. In her three years participating in our program, she overcame many challenges, achieved several goals, and made a plan for a bright future after North Star. While in our program, Kayla’s son went from early toddler-hood to beginning kindergarten. In her second year with us, Kayla became pregnant with her second child. She managed to remain financially stable during her maternity leave (she purchased an insurance plan that provided Maternity Leave Coverage) and has balanced her budget to support her larger family. She has maintained two jobs and recently completed a savings program towards purchasing a home. She is one step closer to achieving her goal of becoming a home owner.
